Recycling system tackles challenging materials
By Stephen Moore | November 2, 2010
Recycling multilayer, heavily printed film, moist materials, and highly contaminated plastics into pellets suitable for use in high-quality film products is now possible with the Erema TVEplus series from Erema Engineering Recycling (Stand 9C05). On show at K is the 1310 version with screw diameter of 100 mm with capacity up to 650 kg/hr.
New features of the TVEplus include enhanced filter performance thanks to reduced shearing upstream of the melt filter, optimized triple degassing via a cutter compactor, and higher homogenization efficiency downstream of filtration and upstream of degassing.
The TVEplus unit at K is coupled with the new HG D hot die face pelletizing system employing direct drive technology. Benefits include maintenance-free design, lifetime lubrication on the drive shaft, an extended pelletizer knife service life, simple and rapid pelletizer knife changeover, and reduced cooling water costs.
Erema is also highlighting its ecoSave technology that enables a specific energy consumption reduction of 10%. This is now a standard feature on all Erema machines. The technology employs energy-efficient components such as high-performance motors and optimized control technology.
