K 2013: Engel puts the plastic pedal to the metal

Sepro to showcase its largest exhibit to date at K 2013

Düsseldorf, Germany - At the K 2013 preview (July 1-3; Düsseldorf, Germany), Sepro Robotique leaders kept reinforcing the idea of “free choice.”

“What will you see on the Sepro stand? More choice at K 2013,” said Jean-Michel Renaudeau, CEO of Sepro. “We’re now in Hall 12 because we needed more space. It’s our biggest investment ever.”

The French supplier of robots and automation systems for injection molding will display a total of 23 robots at its own stand and in the booths of six partner companies. The company said much of the new technology has not been seen before.  

Atlas to present next generation slitter rewinder technology at K 2013

K 2013: Drug-releasing absorbable foam

Institut für Kunststoffverarbeitung (IKV; Hall 14 C 16) and RWTH Aachen IKV have developed a carrier system for treatment of overactive bladder, which they will discuss at K 2013. The microsphere drug-delivery system (DDS) they devised consists of a drug-loaded polymer matrix that is embedded in a foamed absorbable carrier system. The DDS is directly placed into the urinary bladder, and the drug release is controlled by the degradation of the carrier system.

K 2013: Makrolon lends clarity, strength to pump device

Patients can administer their own medicines with high dosing accuracy via a small mechanical injection pump that fits comfortably into your breast pocket. The prototype device, which will be displayed by Bayer at K (Hall 6, Stand A75), applies Makrolon Rx polycarbonate (PC) for all housing components.

CMD to present a new bag machine and winding system

At K 2013, rotary bagmaking machinery manufacturer CMD will launch a new bag machine and winding system.

The company says that the CMD 864 global bag machine and winder offers continuous-motion sealing and provides converters with technology that is simple to operate, has low maintenance requirements and quick changeover. Visitors to Hall 3 stand G05 can inspect bags-on-a-roll samples and discuss the system with technical experts and international agents.
 

K 2013: Stork to showcase five injection molding machines

Braunform MED mold showcases innovative high-volume mold for pharmaceutical

K 2013: UV-curable LSR allows new overmolding combinations

Momentive Performance Materials GmbH is showcasing a totally new approach to hard-soft combinations at this year’s K international trade fair. The company is presenting its newly developed UV-curing LSR, producing an injection-molded multi-component design object in a fully automated process in cooperation with Engel (Hall 15, stands B42, C58) injection molding machines, using a mold supplied by the Austrian liquid injection molding specialist Elmet (Hall 12, E49-7).
